Ben Knelman is the CEO and co-founder of Juntos, which builds empowering personal finance tools for newly-banked households around the world. Hundreds of millions of new customers in emerging markets are opening up bank or mobile money accounts for the very first time. But typically 60 to 90 per cent of these accounts then sit empty and unused. Juntos’ automated conversation platform creates warm, personalised, two-way SMS conversations at massive scale, catalysing client confidence, comfort and successful account usage.
Juntos was named the winner of the G20’s global innovation award for financial inclusion at the G20 Summit in Mexico City, and works with some of the largest banks and mobile money providers in Latin America and Africa.
Named one of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers under 30, Ben has a background in user-centric product development and economics. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s at Stanford, where Juntos began at the Stanford d.school.
