ILA welcomes new committee members
The Inspired Leadership Award (ILA) committee has been strengthened with seven deeply and diversely experienced new members. This bolstered committee is part of a major revamp of the award, which, starting this year, will focus on younger leaders who have shown that they have the potential to achieve positive change on a global scale.
Commenting on the new appointments, ILA committee chairman Jeremy Hillman, pictured, said: “Together with the existing ILA committee members, we now benefit from a truly global geographical spread, from the US, UK and the Nordics, to Latin America, China, Africa and India. This reach will be crucial in recognising and rewarding the next generation of change-makers via the award, wherever in the world they may be.”
The new committee members are: Matthew Gwyther, editor of Management Today; Sergio Jellinek, founder and CEO of SJ & Associates; Jack Leslie, chairman of Weber Shandwick; Heather McGregor, managing director of Taylor Bennett; Ory Okolloh, Kenyan blogger and co-founder of Ushahidi; Archna Vyas, deputy director of communications, India, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and Chloe Zhang, vice director of international business for the Founder Group.
They join the Inspired Leadership Award’s five existing committee members – Jeremy Hillman, chairman and director of corporate communications for the World Bank; Geoff Colvin, senior editor-at-large of Fortune Magazine; Sven Mollekleiv, president of the Norwegian Red Cross; Michael Nobel; chairman of the Nobel Charitable Trust; and Betty Williams, co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize 1976.
