The Performance Theatre has been inspiring the leadership required to realise a new kind of growth since the first theatre in 2005. Here is an insight into our earlier meetings.

Washington DC 2009

'Leadership at a Time of Transition and Turbulence'

Lord Browne of Madingley topped and tailed the Washington theatre, opening with insightful recommendations for the upcoming climate summit in Copenhagen and closing with an outline of the theatre’s immediate next steps. Participants were welcomed to DC by senator Tom Daschle and Richard Gephardt. With humour and skill, these two Washington veterans set the scene for the discussions ahead.

New Delhi 2008

'The emerging world and the role of tomorrow’s multinational'

On 13-14 November 2008 The Performance Theatre met in New Delhi, India, with Tata as the host. The theatre tackled a wide range of subjects including the emergence of a low-carbon economy, the future of cities and ways of engaging the ‘bottom of the pyramid’. Speakers included Ken Costa, Tom Johnstone, Peter Sands and Dr Rajendra Pachauri.

St Petersburg 2007

'A sense of direction'

On 20-21 June 2007 The Performance Theatre met in St Petersburg, Russia. We considered energy security, energy supply and environment. The event explored the crucial phases of interdependence on energy. Gazprom was the co-host.

Wolfsberg 2006

'Inspired leadership – a visual journey'

The Performance Theatre met at Wolfsberg Castle in Switzerland on 11-12 October 2006. This theatre discussed the future of energy, the frontiers of innovation and the challenge for leaders. Speakers included Professor Lars G Josefsson, Anders Dahlvig, Mervyn Davies and Jon Fredrik Baksaas.

Oslo 2005

'Inspiring enduring performance'

The Oslo Performance Theatre was held in partnership with AREVA, BP and Telenor. It tackled the main theme – ‘Inspiring enduring performance’ – via three topics: culture, business models and leadership.
