Part field trip, part supper club, secrets dinners have been a highlight of The Performance Theatre experience since their debut in 2017.
Hosted by expert locals, each secret dinner takes a small group of participants to a different “surprise” location in the city for an evening of food, conversation and inspiration with fellow participants.
As an end of year treat, we are sharing recipes from secret dinners we hosted from 2017 to 2019. We hope these dishes inspire good memories and whet your appetite for the new year.
At a TPT 2017 Singapore secret dinner hosted by Mamakan Art Collective, participants went on a foraging walk and rediscovered local botanical treasures that form part of Singapore’s forgotten food heritage. Botanical artist Mamakan has since moved to Parau, a forested area west of Auckland, Aoteaora in New Zealand and continues working on multi-sensory food/art experiences.
At TPT 2019 Seattle, participants got hands-on experience of the transformative power of creating public art at the secret dinner hosted by Urban Artworks. Urban Artwork’s mission is to engage youth and communities in the creation of public art that inspires connections and honours their voices. A lot of our participants got in touch with their creative side too!
