Crown Prince set for TPT participation

We are delighted to announce that Haakon, the Crown Prince of Norway, is set to join us for The Performance Theatre 2014 in Oslo.

The heir to the throne of Norway undertakes a broad range of official engagements and is patron of a number of organisations. In 2003, Haakon was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with a particular focus on the UN Millennium Development Goals and the effort to cut global poverty in half by 2015. In this capacity he has travelled to Haiti, Nepal, Tanzania, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Guatemala, Burundi, Mongolia, Botswana and Zambia.

The Crown Prince was also an active member of Young Global Leaders (YGL), a forum under the auspices of the World Economic Forum, from its launch in 2005 until autumn 2010. He chaired the YGL work group for the Global Redesign Initiative since 2009. The Crown Prince’s term ended in 2010, and he has now become a new member of The Foundation Board of the YGL Community. In 2006, The Crown Prince founded the Global Dignity initiative with two other YGL members.

We look forward to sharing more details of the Crown Prince’s role at The Performance Theatre Oslo in the near future!
