Istanbul meeting yields new partner

The Performance Theatre Foundation has welcomed a new partner and advisory board member following the success of its most recent meeting in Istanbul.

After proving an invaluable friend to the foundation during its time in Istanbul, Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, chairperson of Turkish media conglomerate Doğan TV Holding, has become a partner and board member.

Commenting on this news, founder and vice chairman Osvald Bjelland said: “Arzuhan’s leadership, expertise and influence helped ensure the smooth and successful execution of this year’s meeting in Istanbul. The Performance Theatre Foundation is confident, therefore, that she will be an asset to the planning and implementation of future theatres. We’re delighted to have her on board.”

Arzuhan became chairperson of Doğan TV Holding in 2011, having previously served as CEO of the TV arm of Doğan Media, Turkey’s largest media conglomerate. In 2007, she was elected the first female chairperson of her country’s leading business organisation, where she served until 2010. After leaving that role, she took over the chair of Do?an Holding from her father, the founder of the company. She is also a Turkish goodwill ambassador to the European Union and champions women’s rights in Turkey, to name but a few of her accomplishments.

Arzuhan said of her joining: “It is a great pleasure and honour to be serving on The Performance Theatre advisory board, where consideration for the future of the globe and mankind is the top priority and the focus is on how we can create a better world to leave to our children. Different aspects of survivability are reviewed meticulously, and creative solutions and proposals are being developed by the leading members of the business world.”
